A: Anne, your success is completely up to you. If you want to "lose 25lbs by the holidays," then you will. At Phase X Performance we would evaluate your body composition, look at your body fat percentage and hormonal balance. Q: I started an exercise program 2 months ago and I've had great results. I lost 10 lbs, but I still have too much fat around my waist. What do you suggest for slimming my tummy?

A: Firstly, congratulations on your success so far, that is excellent. It sounds to me like you have a cortisol problem. Cortisol is a hormone that is released when we are stressed and the result of too much cortisol is more stomach fat than we would like. Assess your stressors in your life right now. This is vague since there could be thousands, however, there are probably a few that are easily identified and by taking corrective measures you will reap immediate results. Assess your sleep patterns, how much? Consistent to bed and wake at the same time? Eating habits, are you eating at regular intervals with good food choices? A big one is exercise, are you killing yourself on cardio? Do not perform long slow cardio, this is a big no-no for anyone trying to lose fat around their waist line.
